| Der 5. DIZH-Fellowship Call bietet Wissenschaftler:innen aus allen Departementen die Chance, vertieft interdisziplinär an Projekten zur digitalen Transformation zu arbeiten. Drei Fellows berichten im Beitrag «Viel Freiheit für Forschung und Vernetzung», welche Erfahrungen sie gemacht haben und was das Fellowship ihnen ermöglicht hat. Im Auswahlverfahren werden zwei getrennte Listen für Forscher und Forscherinnen geführt, um einen möglichen Bias zu verringern. Bewerben kannst du dich bis zum 22. Mai. |

| Mit digitaler Fertigungstechnologie aus Abfall- und Restholz hochwertige neue Möbel herstellen? Yves Ebnöther hat genau dies zusammen mit Studierenden im Rahmen eines DFF-Projektes erprobt. Das Projekt hat das Interesse des Swiss Wood Innovation Network geweckt, das in einem Video u.a. die gemachten Erfahrungen zusammenfasst. | ZHAW Open Digital Badges erstmals ausgestellt |
| Das Pilotprojekt «Open Digital Badges» von Innovation Lab, ZHAW digital und School of Engineering (SoE) spielt die Einführung von digitalen Badges im Bereich Weiterbildung an der ZHAW durch. Am 28.2. konnte im WBK «Hochfrequenztechnik» (School of Engineering) der ersten Weiterbildungsklasse bereits ein Badge ausgestellt werden. |

| Neuer CAS «Digitale Kompetenzen in der Sozialen Arbeit» |
| Basierend auf dem DFF-Projekt «Machine Learning und Algorithmen in der Sozialen Arbeit» entstand ein neuer CAS, der im November startet (Info-Anlass am 23.5.). | Vielseitige DIZH-Innovationsprojekte |
| Im Rahmen des 2. Project Calls unterstützt die DIZH mit 4 Mio. CHF die Entwicklung innovativer Anwendungen. Die Projekte befassen sich u.a. mit playful work, nachhaltigen urbanen Räumen, räumlichem Denken, Handschriften-Erkennung, emotionaler Misshandlung bei Kindern, Bekämpfung von Zwangsheirat, Stroke-Management sowie E-Learning-Tools für die Generation 60+. |

| KI und psychische Gesundheit |
| Wie kann KI helfen und wie schadet sie unserer Gesundheit? Das KI-Netzwerk CLAIRE wird dieses Thema in zwei online-Events beleuchten. Am 27. März zwischen 16 und 17:30 Uhr geht es in einem Webinar darum, wie KI unser Verständnis der Gehirnfunktionen verändert und wie sie in der psychiatrischen Praxis, z. B. bei Diagnose, Behandlung und Prävention, hilft. |

| Kompetenzzentrum Generative AI |
| Generative KI, also Algorithmen, die neue Inhalte erzeugen, z.B. ChatGPT und Stable Diffusion, wird an Hochschulen eifrig diskutiert und erforscht. An der ZHAW ist viel Expertise in verschiedenen Departementen vorhanden. Um diese zu bündeln und einen Austausch zu ermöglichen, wurde das Kompetenzzentrum für Generative KI gegründet. Expert:innen und interessierte Follower:innen sind willkommen. |

Games haben inzwischen eine globale kulturelle Kraft und beeinflussen, wie wir lernen und arbeiten. «Games in Context» zeigt auf, wie vielfältig Themen der digitalen Spielkultur sind und wie wichtig ein Verständnis von Games für das heutige Leben ist. Die Anlässe werden bis Ende 2023 an diversen Orten durchgeführt und sind von der Zentralbibliothek in Zusammenarbeit mit unseren DIZH-Partnerinnen DSI und ZHdK organisiert. |

Education and the European Digital Agenda

Das Aufkommen der Computertechnologie hat die Schulsysteme weltweit vor eine Reihe von politischen, sozialen, pädagogischen und finanziellen Herausforderungen gestellt, die auch heute noch aktuell sind. Der Workshop wird sich mit den politischen Initiativen, finanziellen Überlegungen und organisatorischen Strukturen befassen, die die Einführung von Computern in der Sekundarstufe, in der beruflichen Aus- und Weiterbildung sowie in der Erwachsenen- und Hochschulbildung geprägt haben. Darüber hinaus werden die Perspektiven der verschiedenen Interessengruppen, einschliesslich Politiker:innen, Computerherstellern, Lehrenden und Lernenden, sowie die Frage untersucht, wie ihre Interessen und Prioritäten die Integration von Computern in die Bildung beeinflusst haben. |

| Creating new furniture from waste and residual wood? In a DFF project, Yves Ebnöther and a team of students used digital manufacturing technology exactly to try this out. The project sparked interests from the Swiss Wood Innovation Network, resulting in a video that shows the experiences that were gained. | Multifaceted innovative DIZH projects |
| As part of the second Project Call, the innovation programme of the DIZH supports innovative applications with CHF 4 million. The projects include for instance playful work, sustainable urban spaces, spatial thinking, handwriting recognition, emotional abuse in children, combating forced marriage, stroke management and e-learning tools for the 60+ generation. |

| AI and mental health |
| How can AI help and how does it harm our well-being? The AI network CLAIRE will discuss this topic in two online events and you can join in. On 27 March between 4 and 5:30 p.m. a webinar focuses on how AI transforms our understanding of brain functions and how it helps in psychiatric practices e.g. diagnosis, treatment, prevention. |
