| Davos Tech Summit Update |
Zum ersten Mal verwandelt sich eine Schweizer Stadt in eine Roboterstadt mit mehr als 30 Anwendungsfällen. Die ZHAW ist Mitinitiatorin.Wir haben fantastische Referierende - eine Auswahl: Amanda Prorok (Universität Cambridge), Marco Pavone (NVIDIA / Stanford University), Mario Di Castro (CERN), Roland Siegwart (ETH Zürich).

| Neues aus der Projektförderung |
| Von 21 DIZH Outreach-Anträgen wurden 8 Projekte ausgewählt, die ZHAW ist an 7 beteiligt. Die Themen sind vielfältig und beschäftigen sich z.B. mit KI-Kompetenz, Pandemien und Podcasts. |

| Auch im ZHAW-internen DFF for Research and Development Call werden 8 Projekte unterstützt. Die ausgewählten Vorhaben drehen sich um Digitalisierungsaspekte in Bereichen wie Energie, Biodiversität und Gesundheit. |
|
|
| Rapid-Action-Call zur Stärkung demokratischer Gemeinschaften: Gesucht werden Projekte, welche die demokratische Resilienz und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe stärken. Ab dem 1. April kannst du dich bewerben. Verpasse nicht die zwei Q&A-Sessions, die am 9. April und 11. Mai jeweils um 12-13 Uhr stattfinden. |

| BMFH: FirstGen und MentorMate |
| Mit dem BMFH-Förderprogramm wird der Übergang an die Fachhochschule erleichtert. Im finalen Call wurden zwei Projekte ausgewählt: |
| • | | «FirstGen: Empower2Study» erstellt ein Tutorial für BMS-Lernende, das Orientierung für den FH-Studienstart bietet. |
| • | | «MentorMate» erhält ein neues Teilprojekt. Das bereits im TEF- und DIZH-Call geförderte Projekt testet neue KI-Einsatzszenarien in der Hochschullehre – etwa die Hilfe beim selbstständigen Lernen bereits während der BMS – und stärkt die langfristige Verankerung. |

| EduImpulse Day: Lern(t)räume |
| Am 1. Juni geht der zweite «EduImpulse Day» über die Bühne: Im Fokus steht 2026 die Verschmelzung physischer, digitaler und sozialer Elemente zu inspirierenden «Lern(t)räumen». Dozierende und Studiengangleitende in Lehre und Weiterbildung sind eingeladen, über hybride Settings, transformative Skills und die neuesten Tools zu diskutieren. |

| Im September 2025 schlug ein Forscher Alarm wegen Sicherheitsrisiken bei Unitree-Robotern. Die ZHAW und andere Institutionen haben einige dieser Roboter erworben. Der Robotik-Experte Jorge Pena Queralta erklärt, warum unsere Forschungsroboter nach wie vor sicher sind. |

| ZHAW am After the Algorithm Festival |
| "Do you trust ChatGPT more than your gut feeling?" konnte man auf einer Fahne, mitten im Zürcher Oberdorf lesen. Sie stand sinnbildlich fürs Thema des 10-tägigen Festivals, bei dem sich Kunstschaffende, Forschende und Bevölkerung mit KI auseinandersetzten. Neben der Roboterbar, die zum Auftakt Passant:innen auf die Ausstellung aufmerksam machte, zeigten ZHAW-Mitarbeitende auch 3 Projekte und gaben Workshops. |

| Erstelle barrierefreie Dokumente und gestalte deine Lehre/Forschung inklusiv: In praxisnahen Webinaren von April bis Mai 2026 lernst du den effizienten Einsatz neuer ZHAW-Vorlagen und erhältst konkrete Tipps. Ausserdem gibt es Support-Termine für deine Fragen. |

| News on project funding |
| Out of 21 DIZH outreach proposals, 8 projects were selected; ZHAW is involved in 7 of them. The topics are diverse and cover areas such as AI literacy, pandemics, and podcasts. |
|
|
| Eight projects are also being funded through the ZHAW’s internal DFF for Research and Development Call. These projects focus on aspects of digitalization in fields such as energy, biodiversity, and health. |
|
|
| Fifth Rapid Action Call to Strengthen Democratic Communities: The call supports projects that foster democratic resilience and civic participation. Applications are welcome from 1st April. Don't miss the two Q&A sessions, taking place on 9th April and 11th May from 12 a.m. to 1 p.m. |

| BMFH: FirstGen and MentorMate |
| The BMFH funding programme helps ease the transition to a university of applied sciences. Two projects were selected in the final call: |
| • | | “FirstGen: Empower2Study” is developing a tutorial for BMS students that provides guidance for starting their studies at a university of applied sciences. |
| • | | “MentorMate” is receiving a new subproject. The project, which has already received funding through the TEF and DIZH calls, is testing new AI application scenarios in higher education – such as support for independent learning as early as during vocational school – and is strengthening its long-term integration. |

| EduImpulse Day: Learning Spaces |
| The second “EduImpulse Day” will take place on 1st June: The focus in 2026 is on the convergence of physical, digital, and social elements into inspiring “learning spaces.” Lecturers and programme directors in education and further training are invited to discuss hybrid settings, transformative skills, and the latest tools. |

It symbolised the theme of the 10-day festival, where artists, researchers, and the general public explored the topic of AI. In addition to the robot bar, which drew passersby’s attention to the exhibition at the first weekend, ZHAW staff also presented three projects and led workshops. |
