Swiss AI for ZHAW
Those working with confidential, and especially with sensitive personal data, cannot use common AI platforms. At ZHAW, many tools may only be used with public data, as outlined by ICT in the 'AI Tools' overview. That's why ZHAW digital launched a pilot project with AlpineAI, which provides a secure, Switzerland-based AI solution. Following the test phase, a review by the data protection officer, and an ICT market analysis, AlpineAI will be available soon to all internal ZHAW employees.

Update: AI as part of Assessments
A new version of the guideline Use of generative AI systems as part of assessments came into effect on 1st September. It now includes a glossary of levels of generative AI involvement (Section 5), intended to serve as a tool for discussing and clarifying the use of AI in academic work. In addition, the guideline strengthens lecturers' responsibility to communicate with students about the use of AI and recommends complementary assessment formats that can reliably evaluate the acquisition of competencies.
