Ab dem 16. März 2020 arbeitete fast die gesamte ZHAW aus dem Homeoffice heraus. Mehrere DFF-Projekte untersuchten, wie die Menschen der ZHAW diese Zeit erlebt haben.

• Beate Schwarz (Angewandte Psychologie) befragte Studierende, wie gut sie sich auf den Onlineunterricht umstellen konnten. Neben ihrem Bericht hat sie einen Ratgeber für Studierende entwickelt.


• Michael Zirkler und sein gemischtes Team (Angewandte Psychologie und School of Management and Law) haben Mitarbeitende befragt, welche Erfahrungen sie mit Distanzführung gemacht haben.


• Julia Quehenberger (Soziale Arbeit) befragte Mitarbeitende mit Kindern, welche Auswirkungen im Familienalltag zu spüren waren.


• Die Befragung von Céline Mühlethaler und Sandra Spörri (School of Engineering, Human Factors) liefert einen Überblick über verschiedene Aspekte der Erfahrungen, die Mitarbeitende im Lockdown gemacht haben.


• Marcel Sieber (Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik) hat eine qualitative Studie zu den Themen Business-IT-Alignment und Unternehmenskultur der ZHAW-ICT durchgeführt.

Alle ZHAW-Mitarbeitenden können laufend bis am 26. März 2021 um 23:59 Uhr Projektanträge für innovative Ideen im Bereich der digitalen Transformation unter diesem Link einreichen. Die geförderten Projekte werden Anfang Juni kommuniziert.

Übersicht DIZH Fellows

Die Digitalisierungsinitiative des Kantons Zürich (DIZH) unterstützt Gesellschaft, Kultur und Wirtschaft darin, die Chancen der Digitalisierung wahrzunehmen und für den Standort Zürich gewinnbringend zu nutzen.

Zu diesem Zweck lanciert das DIZH Innovationsprogramm den ersten Projekt-Call. Ziel ist es, insbesondere Projekte zu fördern, welche unterschiedliche Formen der Kooperation zwischen den beteiligten Hochschulen mit Praxispartnern in den Vordergrund stellen. Für diesen Call ist akademisches Personal aller DIZH-Hochschulen antragsberechtigt – somit auch alle Forschende der ZHAW. Eingabefrist für den ersten Call ist der 1. März 2021.

Die ZHAW als edX Partnerorganisation hat Zugang zu den neuen edX Online Campus Essentials. Für Studierende bietet dies Unterstützung für Kurse im Selbststudium sowie zum Aufbau von sozialen Lerngemeinschaften. Dieses neue Programm bietet kostenlose Lizenzen und Zugriff auf den Katalog von ca. 150 Kursen, die 10 wesentlichen Themenbereichen zugeordnet sind, z. B. in den Bereichen Informatik, Wirtschaft und Management, Datenanalyse und berufliche Fähigkeiten.

Das Online Campus Essentials Programm wird ab Anfang Februar bis zum 31. Juli 2021 verfügbar sein.

Nadine Antenen ist Kursleiterin einer der ersten Onlinekurse der ZHAW auf der Onlinelernplattform edX. Aber wie unterscheidet dieser Kurs sich vom zurzeit normalen Onlineunterricht? In der neuen wahzUP-Ausgabe und in diesem Video erfahrt ihr, worauf sich Nadine Antenen am meisten freut und was die Teilnehmenden im Kurs erwartet.

Seit Herbst 2020 ist Andri Gerber Teil des ZHAW digital Kernteams. Zusammen mit zehn weiteren Mitgliedern klärt der Professor für Städtebaugeschichte, welche Rolle die Digitalisierung an der ZHAW spielt und welche Projekte rund um die Digitale Transformation finanziell gefördert werden sollen. Im Videointerview verrät der 46jährige, wie die Digitalisierung die Architektur verändert und welche digitale Zukunft er in seinem Themengebiet sieht.

Internationaler Online-Kurs für ZHAW-Mitarbeitende ab 22. Februar. Thematisiert und praktiziert werden neue Formen der digitalen Zusammenarbeit und wichtige Themen der digitalen Bildung in Bezug auf OER (Open Educational Resources), Netzkultur und Kursdesign.

Sei Teil des ersten Sustainability Hack am 25. und 26. Februar 2021 und entwickle gemeinsam mit anderen Change MakerInnen neue Ideen, Ansätze und Geschäftskonzepte zur Bewältigung von Nachhaltigkeitsherausforderungen. ZHAW-Studierende stellen sich diversen, von den Departementen definierten, Herausforderungen zu aktuellen Problematiken im Bereich Nachhaltigkeit. Verschiedene Coachings und Workshops erleichtern den Zugang zu Themen wie Entwicklung von Geschäftsmodellen, Unternehmertum und Design Thinking im Bereich Impact Entrepreneurship.

Der Sustainability Hack ist Teil des ZHAW Sustainable Impact Programmes. Impact Entrepreneurship begleitet Studierende von der Idee bis zum eigenen wirkungsvollen Start-up-Unternehmen für nachhaltige Entwicklung. Das Ganze wird im Rahmen der ZHAW Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie umgesetzt. ZHAW sustainable will mit diesem Angebot exzellente Initiativen ihrer Studierenden und Lehrenden für eine Nachhaltige Entwicklung fördern.

From 16 March 2020, almost the entire ZHAW worked from home. Several DFF projects investigated how people at the ZHAW experienced this time.

• Beate Schwarz (Applied Psychology) asked students how well they were able to adjust to online teaching. Alongside her report, she has developed a guidebook for students.


• Michael Zirkler and his mixed team (Applied Psychology and School of Management and Law) interviewed staff members about their experiences with distance leadership.


• Julia Quehenberger (Social Work) asked employees with children what effects they felt in everyday family life.


• The survey by Céline Mühlethaler and Sandra Spörri (School of Engineering, Human Factors) provides an overview of various aspects of the experiences employees have had during the lockdown.


• Marcel Sieber (Institute of Information Systems) conducted a qualitative study on Business-IT-alignment and corporate culture at ZHAW-ICT.

All ZHAW employees can submit project proposals for innovative ideas in the area of digital transformation on an ongoing basis until 26 March 2021 at 11:59 pm. The funded projects will be communicated at the beginning of June.

Übersicht DIZH Fellows

The Digitalisation Initiative of the Canton of Zurich (DIZH) supports culture, the economy and society in taking advantage of the opportunities offered by digitalisation, and in using them to benefit the Canton of Zurich.

To this end, the DIZH Innovation Program is launching the first Project Call with the aim to support projects that focus on different forms of cooperation between the participating universities and Practice Partners. Academic staff of all DIZH universities are eligible to apply for this call – including all researchers at the ZHAW. The submission deadline for the first call is 1 March 2021.

ZHAW as a edX partner organisation has now access to the edX Online Campus Essentials. For students it offers support for self-paced courses as well as building social learning communities. This new program offers free licenses and access to the catalogue of approx. 150 courses mapped to 10 essential subject areas for example in Computer Science, Business and Management, Data Analytics and Professional Skills.

The Online Campus Essentials programme will be available in the beginning of February until the end of July 2021.

Nadine Antenen is the course leader for one of ZHAW's first online courses on the edX online learning platform. Andri Gerber has been part of the ZHAW digital core team since autumn 2020. Together with ten other members, the professor of urban planning history defines the role of digitalisation at the ZHAW and which projects related to digital transformation should receive financial support. International online course for ZHAW employees starting on 22 February. New forms of digital collaboration and important topics of digital education in relation to OER, net culture and course design will be discussed and practised.

Be part of the first Sustainability Hack on 25 and 26 February 2021 and develop new ideas, approaches and business concepts for overcoming sustainability challenges together with other change makers. ZHAW students will take on various challenges defined by the departments on current issues in the field of sustainability. Various coaching sessions and workshops facilitate access to topics such as business model development, entrepreneurship and Design Thinking in the field of impact entrepreneurship.
