Wir würden euch gerne persönlich treffen! Für ein Kennenlernen kommen wir zu euch in die Departemente und beantworten - bei einer kleinen Überraschung - alle eure Fragen. Am 24. März starten wir an der School of Management and Law im Raum ST 10.20 und am 5. April sind wir am Departement Gesundheit im Haus Adeline Favre (Rauminfo im Eingang beachten).

Was ist das Nüü und wo erfahre ich mehr? |
Das Nüü ist der neue Eventspace an der Lagerstrasse in Zürich – inklusive Roboterbar und moderner AV-Technik. Dort organisieren wir zusammen mit euch unterschiedliche Events. 6 Eventreihen sind für 2022 geplant. Wir starten am 7. April mit dem Thema “Virtual Reality”, am 12. Mai geht es weiter mit “Barrierefreiheit”. |

KI Sandbox |
In Punkto Regulierung gibt es bei KI (Künstliche Intelligenz) noch viele offene Fragen. Unter dem Namen «Innovation-Sandbox» lanciert der Kanton Zürich deshalb eine Testumgebung für KI-Projekte. Mit dieser können Beteiligte konkrete Vorhaben verwirklichen und gleichzeitig herausfinden, wie eine sinnvolle Regulierung aussehen könnte. Eingabefrist ist Ende Juni. |

Computer-Simulationen im Impfzentrum |
Mit Computer-Simulationen lassen sich die Abläufe in Impfzentren genau planen und optimieren. Die ZHAW hat mit einem solchen Modell den Betrieb des Impfzentrums Winterthur begleitet. “Mit solchen Simulationen können wir sicher feststellen, wie wir unser Gesundheitswesen noch besser machen können”, sagt Alfred Angerer vom Winterthurer Institut für Gesundheitsökonomie. |

Mobiles Bezahlen beliebt |
Etwa die Hälfte der Online-Zahlungen läuft heute über Smartphone, Tablet und Co. Zudem nutzen inzwischen rund 30 Prozent der Schweizer Bevölkerung Neobanken. Das zeigt der aktuelle Swiss Payment Monitor der ZHAW und der Universität St. Gallen. |

Wie erfolgreich eine Online-Konferenz aussehen kann, zeigt das Projektteam des Instituts für Kindheit, Jugend und Familie am Departement Soziale Arbeit. Für die Konferenz EuSARF 2021 erhielten sie sehr viel positives Feedback – das liegt auch am innovativen Konferenzdesign. |

"Digitalisierung und Kultur" in Bern |
Wie verändert Digitalisierung Kultur im Sinne der Aneignungsweisen von «Welt»? Und nicht zuletzt für die Kultur selbst: Wie verändert Digitalisierung die «Wesenhaftigkeit» kultureller Ausdrucksformen und unser Verständnis davon, was «Kultur» ist? Diese und weitere Fragen werden vom 14.-16. November 2022 im Rahmen der 10. NTA-Tagung in Bern diskutiert. Eingabeschluss für den Call for Papers ist am 18. April 2022. |

What is the Nüü and where do I find out more? |
Nüü is the new event space at the Lagerstrasse in Zurich – including a robot bar and modern AV infrastructure. There we organize different events together with you. In 2022, there will be six event series. We’ll start on 7 April with the topic “Virtual Reality” and continue on 12 May with “Accessibility”. |

Your ideas for projects on digital transformation |
The current deadline for submitting project proposals in the Digital Futures Fund is 28 March 2022. All criteria and framework conditions for the DFF call - which is open to all ZHAW employees - as well as information on the assessment and selection procedures can be found in the call for proposals. |

Complete international courses, for free |
As people keep asking us about it, we are pleased to point this out repeatedly, also for new readers: Until 30 June, anyone with a ZHAW mail address can enrol for courses at renowned universities worldwide and complete one or more certificates free of charge with a personal licence. KI Sandbox |
In terms of regulation, there are still many unanswered questions about AI (artificial intelligence). Therefore, the Canton of Zurich is launching the so-called "Innovation Sandbox", a test environment for AI projects. With this, participants can realise concrete projects and at the same time find out what sensible regulations could look like. Submit your project until end of June. |

Computer simulations at the vaccination center |
Computer simulations can be used to precisely plan and optimize processes in vaccination centers. The ZHAW used such a model to accompany the operation of the Winterthur vaccination center. "With such simulations, we can certainly determine how we can make our healthcare system even better," says Alfred Angerer of the Winterthur Institute of Health Economics. |

Mobile payment is popular |
Around half of all online payments today are made using devices such as smartphones and tablets. In addition, around 30 percent of the Swiss population now use neobanks. These are the findings of the latest Swiss Payment Monitor issued by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and the University of St. Gallen. |

How is digitisation changing culture in terms of the ways in which we experience and grasp the “world”? And not least with regard to culture itself, how is digitisation affecting the essence of cultural expression along with our understanding of what “culture” is?
